The family and friends of Rinji Bala, a 20-year-old 300L History and International Studies student of University of Jos, have been thrown into mourning after he was allegedly shot dead by military officers in Jos, Plateau State.
According to Amama Benn Benedict, “Rinji Bala Uzziel was shot dead yesterday in Jos by Rogue Military Men that claimed that he was part of a burglary gang.
The Soldiers allegedly released him and five others after taking them to the Sector Command at Zaria Road and asked them to run and allegedly opened fire.
The bullets hit him and he was killed, others luckily did not get hit and ran back to inform his family of the incident.”
Family members and friends have taken to social media platforms to call for justice and as they pay tribute to the deceased using the hashtag, #JusticeForRinji.
