Four persons were on Saturday feared dead and several others injured in an auto crash along the Iwo Road axis of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital. This is just as four persons were injured and many others sustained injuries in a trailer crash in Yola, Adamawa State.
It was gathered that a grandmother and her two grandchildren were involved in the Oyo State crash which happened at Boluwaji Garage on Iwo Road.
An eyewitness said tragedy struck when a fuel tanker veered off the road and ran into a waiting crowd and two commercial vehicles
Sunday PUNCH gathered that a young boy however escaped the accident as he fled to safety while the truck approached.
The Police Public Relations Officer, in the state, Gbenga Fadeyi, who confirmed the incident, said, “I have been informed that four people died in the accident. Our men are still there now trying to sort things out.”
In the Adamawa crash involving two trailers conveying humans and cattles along Mayo-Belwa and Ganye roads on Saturday, five persons were left dead and several others injured.
