The community of Hwolshe area of Jos the Plateau State capital had been thrown into mourning following the gruesome manner in which a 20 Year old boy was killed.
The young boy Peter Rinjin aka Bobo happens to be a 300 level undergraduate student of the department of history and international studies University of Jos. He was said to have been picked up by the special task force along side his 5 other friends on the allegations of burglary alleged robbery and taken to the sector Command of the Special Task Force (STF) situated along Zaria road.
Report and eyewitness has it that the soldiers who on releasing him and his friends told them to run out of the premises, so when they took to their heels, the soldiers opened fire on them thereby killing only Peter Rinjin as his other friends escaped it, the escaped friends are the ones who reported the incident.
But now the question is, why is our country so lawless that the same people who are suppose to protect us are the ones killing us?
As at the time of filling this report the military has not come out to make any official statement regarding the unfortunate development neither has the family of Peter spoken since they are obviously currently mourning their son.
Below are the photos of the Sympathizers:
This is an entirely civil case as even they boys are guilty of such crime, the use of life fire arms on unnarmed civilians is totally out of place and unprofessional.
Even if it was a crime as alleged, it should of course be handled by the police and not the use of military force in a non confrontational situation like that. We hope the case will be taken up by the relevant agencies and Justice will be served in this matter.
